Via Homely Scientist, I’m introduced to the shockingly large Vespa mandarinia (a.k.a. the Asian Giant Hornet, a.k.a. Japanese Hornet).

He quotes the wikipedia article on the species:

Substance P. What is it?
From Wikipedia:
